After a long battle, Nightmare wins by using Phantom!Papyrus to make Murder surrender and join the gang. He was initially forced by Nightmare to accept his deal and join the 'Villain Sans Squad' or die. Murder Sans takes the role of one of the protagonist villains and possibly the story's central protagonist.
